Tonya J. Gisselberg confirmed her devotion to intellectual property law by returning to law school for an additional year of legal studies in that area many years after earning her law degree. She received her LL.M. from the Intellectual Property Law and Policy Graduate Program at the University of Washington in 2010, earning an Outstanding Student Award for her energy, focus and consistency throughout the school year. She continues that energy, focus and consistency in her blog postings offering insight and commentary on copyright and other intellectual property topics and, occasionally, dogs.
Tonya is an experienced attorney and a native of Washington state. She graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. degree in Business Administration. Her J.D. degree is from Seattle University. She practiced plaintiffs personal injury and family law in Bellevue, Washington for a number of years before working as an attorney at K&L Gates. While working at K&L Gates, she became interested in technology and intellectual property law. She decided to focus her practice on intellectual property law, including copyright, trademark, Internet law, publishing, trade secrets, privacy law, licensing, business transactions, business formation and litigation. Her practice is located in Redmond, Washington. Tonya is licensed to practice law in Washington State.
Dogs captivate Tonya! She has been a Vizsla enthusiast for over 20 years. A Vizsla is a rust-colored, smooth-coated hunting dog originating in Hungary. Tonya participates in American Kennel Club events and has put conformation, obedience, hunting and agility titles on her dogs. She also has a soft spot for rescue dogs and to date has welcomed 3 rescue dogs into her heart and home.
